Canadian Geographic—Canada’s second most-read magazine—needed a digital experience as rich and immersive as its iconic print edition. I reimagined the publication from the ground up, launching a flagship website that brings 90+ years of storytelling into the digital age.
Designed to deepen engagement and drive subscriptions, donations, and ad revenue, the site introduces dynamic tools for discovery: curated content paths, intelligent search, and smart categorization—all surfacing stories from over a decade of archives. The experience honours the magazine’s editorial legacy with a layout that echoes the print edition, while enabling new ways to explore, read, and share.
From photo-led stories and interactive maps to WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards, every detail was considered. The design not only looks beautiful, but functions intuitively, and grows Canadian Geographic’s digital presence without losing what readers love most about the magazine.
